Overview of agrometeorological situation of June 02, 2020

Lack of moisture was observed in many areas of the southern part of the republic as well as in places in the central part and in the north-west of the country during determining soil moisture on May 28. Moisture reserves were low in number of districts of Gomel and Brest regions, mainly under winter crops and perennial grasses. Yellowing and drying of leaves from soil drought of winter crops was noted in some observed areas. Triticale began to dry the stems according to Zhitkovichi weather station. Moisture reserves remained sufficient in most of the territory of the republic. Intensive rains took place in the last days of May and significantly replenished soil moisture reserves in the southern part and in eastern regions of the country. That improved moisture supply of crops and conditions for productivity formation.
Expected in the first ten days of June rains will maintain sufficient soil moisture in the major part of Belarus.
