Review of the agrometeorological situation of August 30, 2019
Because of warm weather during the last decade of August, agrometeorological conditions for maize grain ripening ameliorated. According to recent data of agrometeorological observations, maize wax ripeness has started in many areas of southern part of the Republic of Belarus, complete ripeness – in the extreme southern areas. Grain filling continues the remain areas, ear blooming – in certain observation sites of Vitebsk region. Certain gap with last year timing is observed relating to maize development on many observation fields.
Milky ripeness and was ripeness of grain is an optimal period for maize harvest works for silage. It is advisable to carry out harvest works of silage sowings till complete ripeness in order to get fodder of high quality.
Weather conditions will contribute to ripening of maize grain and harvest works in early September.
