Climate characteristic of November 2019

Average air temperature in November was +4,2°С that is 3,3°С above climate normal. Such warm temperature can be registered once  every 15 years. The highest values of positive deviations from climate normal were registered in Vitebsk, Grodno, Brest regions (+3,5ºС), the smallest – in Gomel region (+3,1ºС).

Temperature regime was uneven during this month. First and second decades were very warm  with average air temperature which was 5,1 and 5,6 °С above normal respectively. Third decade was cooler than usual with average air temperature 3,2°С below normal.  
Daily temperatures exceeded 5 degrees mark of first and second decades and in the warmest days of 1st and 2nd decades exceeded 5 degrees mark. In third decade daily temperatures ranged from -5 to +5°С. Maximum air temperature (+18,5°С) was registered in Zhitkovichi on November 4.

Night temperatures from 1 to 20 November ranged from е +1 +10°С, and from November 21   everywhere they fell to negative values. Minimum air temperature (-11,1°С) registered in Bragin on November 25.       
45,1 mm of precipitations fell out on average in November (98% of climate normal). Vitebsk region was the most moistened with 66,8 mm of precipitations or 136 % of climate normal. The least of precipitations was registered in Gomel region – 26,9 мм или 57% of climate normal.

Precipitations were falling uneven during the month.  In first decade fell out 29,2 mm or 190% of clime normal. Second and third decades were dry: 10,0 mm (65% of normal) и 6,0 mm (40% normal ) respectively. Maximum daily amount of precipitations registered in Verhnedvinsk (25 mm) on November 5.

In third decade of November snow and sleet were observed.  In the most part of Vitebsk, Minsk and Gomel regions and in certain points of observations of Grodno, Mogilev, Brest regions snow cover of  0,1 and 2 sm appeared for a short time.On certain days  of the month wind was getting stronger up to 15-18 m / s, its maximum value (18 m /s) was regisered in Grodno and Novogrudok on November 21 and 22. Fogs were observed in places.
