Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 22, 2022
The prolonged rains that have been observed in recent days in many regions of the republic have significantly increased the moisture content in the soil. Moderate moistening of the topsoil remains mainly in Vitebsk and in the southern part of the Brest region, which allows maintaining good rates of sowing of early spring crops here. In the rest of the territory of Belarus, the upper 10-cm soil layer is mostly heavily and excessively moistened. An unfavorable agrometeorological situation is developing in the Mogilev region, where, due to waterlogging of the soil, field agricultural work is practically impossible. In the near future, waterlogging of the soil in many areas may continue under the influence of unstable weather.
