Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 8, 2022

Past precipitation replenished the moisture content of the soil, especially in the southern half of Belarus. The moisture deficit observed at the end of March on light soils in the southern part of the country has been eliminated. After the rain, in places in the Brest, Grodno and Gomel regions, as well as according to a number of weather stations in the central region, the topsoil is waterlogged. In the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions, strong and excessive soil moisture persists in most areas, which negatively affects the conduct of field agricultural work.
In the near future, unstable weather will continue to keep waterlogged soils from drying out. Vegetation of winter crops, regrowth of perennial grasses will be inactive.
