Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 12, 2022
According to the results of the instrumental determination of soil moisture conducted on August 8, in most areas under corn, potatoes and root crops, the reserves of productive moisture were good and satisfactory. In the north-west of the Vitebsk region, where a lot of precipitation fell, waterlogging persisted, at the same time, in a number of districts of the Brest and Gomel regions, the reserves of productive moisture in the arable soil horizon remained low. According to some weather stations, due to the lack of moisture in the southern part of the country, the withering of corn plants began.
In the near future, short-term rains will moisten the soil, but unevenly. In places in the south of the country, the lack of soil moisture may persist.
