Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 4, 2020

Rains that took place in the last ten days of July maintained sufficient moisture reserves in the soil in most of the country. There was a decrease in soil moisture reserves in many areas of the southwestern half of the republic.  Precipitation fell out no more than a third of ten-day norm. Content of useful soil moisture under agricultural crops was low at the time of moisture determination in a number of districts of Grodno, Brest and Gomel regions, as well as in the extreme southwest of Vitebsk region. Passed rains in late July replenished soil moisture content in some places in these areas.
Agrometeorological conditions in the coming week will keep harvesting at a good pace. Sufficient moisture supply in the greater territory of the republic against the background of warm weather will contribute to root crops, corn and vegetables growth and development.
