Wintering of winter crops takes place in the conditions of winter weather. The depth of the snow cover is sufficient to protect winter crops from the influence of low air temperatures. The soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node of winter grain crops remains above optimal values, which, with a slight freezing of the soil in combination with a rather high snow cover, causes an increased consumption of accumulated nutrients by plants. Long-term preservation of such an agrometeorological situation can lead to a weakening of winter crops.
Due to expected snowfalls, the depth of the snow cover will increase. Intensification of frost at the beginning of next week does not pose a danger to winter crops.
