Overview of agrometeorological situation of February 22, 2022
Intensive snowmelt is observed under the influence of warm weather. According to the latest data, snow cover remains mainly in the northern part, in the east and in a number of areas of the central region. The soil has completely thawed in most districts of Brest, Gomel, Grodno and in some places of Minsk region. In the northern part and in the eastern regions, an ice crust ground to the soil spreads on the fields, its thickness is from 10 mm to 40 mm. The soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node of winter crops is still above the optimal values (about 0°C). In areas where snow cover persists, crops will come out of wintering more weakened and require proper care.
In the third decade of February, due to the persistence of thaw weather, the snow cover will be destroyed, and the thawing of the soil will continue.
