Overview of agrometeorological situation of January 26, 2022
Agrometeorological conditions for hibernation of winter crops and perennial grasses are developing satisfactorily. The temperature of the soil at the depth of the tillering node of winter crops is within 0, -4°C. During a short cold snap at the beginning of the second decade of January in some areas in the north-west of Belarus, the soil temperature at a depth of 3 cm dropped to -8 -12°C. For grain crops, such temperatures do not pose a danger. For winter rapeseed, due to insufficient snow cover at this time, in some places in the western half of the country, damage by low temperatures is not ruled out. To determine the viability, samples of winter crops, rapeseed, perennial grasses were selected and they are being grown.
In the near future, low temperatures that pose a threat to crops hibernation are not expected on the territory of Belarus.
