Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 5, 2024
According to the latest data, winter grain crops in a significant part of the country are maturing – waxy ripeness is observed, winter barley has matured to full ripeness, and it is being harvested. Grain filling is observed on the main arrays of spring grain crops. In some places, the formation of grain continues in wheat and in late crops in barley. With a noticeable advance of last year's dates, mainly in the southern and western regions of the country, waxy ripeness was noted in spring crops – the maturation of spring barley and oats began. Visual assessments of the condition of grain crops are mostly good. After intense rains with wind, there is a lodging of crops in places throughout the republic.
In the near future, an increase in the temperature regime will contribute to the maturation of grain crops. However, the rains expected at the beginning of next week will still somewhat restrain the drying of grain and complicate harvesting operations.
