Overview of agrometeorological situation of March 12, 2021

In the first ten days of March, due to a decrease in the temperature regime, a small snow cover re-established on a large territory of the republic. The height of snow in fields with winter crops is generally no more than 1-5 cm, in some areas of the Vitebsk, Minsk and Mogilev regions, about 10-15 cm. The soil is frozen over most of the territory up to 5-10 cm, in many areas of the eastern part of Belarus freezing remains up to 15-20 cm, in the Goretsky region remains up to 45 cm. The minimum soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node for the first ten days of March was -1 -5°С, which is not dangerous for winter grain crops. At the same time, the likelihood of damage to winter rape crops by low temperatures is not excluded. In the second decade of March, active development of spring processes is not expected.
