Overview of agrometeorological situation of March 14, 2023

An increase in the temperature regime contributes to the active melting of snow. According to the latest data, snow cover remains in most areas of the northeastern half of the country. Under fairly high snow, plants have a more intensive consumption of nutrients, which leads to their weakening. Weakened plants are more susceptible to the development of snow mold.
According to a number of weather stations in the Vitebsk region and in the east of the Mogilev region, there is an ice crust lapped to the soil in the fields. In most of the territory of Belarus, the upper layer of the soil is freezing, in the southern regions the soil is thawed.
In the near future, weather conditions will contribute to the further destruction of snow cover and thawing of the soil.
