Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 22, 2020

Productive moisture reserves in most of the territory of the country are good for crop growth and development. Increased moisture reserves are observed after past rains in the north-west of the country. Lack of moisture was observed, primarily under winter crops and perennial grasses due to uneven distribution of precipitation in many areas of the southern half of the republic during soil moisture determination. Low moisture reserves are observed in Gomel and Brest regions (according to weather stations).
Passed rains at the end of the decade replenished soil moisture reserves mainly in the west of the country and in some places in Gomel region. Short-term rains expected in the coming days will slightly improve the agrometeorological situation in the southern half of the republic. Insufficient soil moisture may persist due to uneven distribution of precipitation in some areas.
