Overview of agrometeorological situation of September 11, 2020
In the last five days of August, corn grain maturity began with a lag from last year's terms. Farms have started to harvest it for silage. Conditions for the ripening of corn in the past period of September were better in the southeastern regions of Belarus. According to the latest data, in some areas, corn has been fully ripe. The accumulated heat for the period from May to the first ten days of September on a large territory of Belarus is sufficient for early and mid-season corn varieties maturity, sown at the optimum time.
In the near future, moderately warm weather, predominantly without precipitation, will contribute to the maturation and drying of corn grains, as well as harvesting.
