Review of the agrometeorological situation of April 30, 2019
According to recent data of visual observations, topsoil is poor moistened on most of Belarus, it is completely dry in some areas. Past weekends, intermittent rains moistened topsoil only in certain area of southern part of the country. Sufficient moisture is observed in some areas of Grodno and Mogilev regions, in north-eastern part of Brest region and in the remain regions but only according to data of certain meteorological stations.
Because of moisture deficit in topsoil, there are unfavorable agrometeorological conditions for seed germination and emergence of spring crops. According to recent data of observations, average soil temperature at depth of 10 cm is +10+15°С.
Dry weather complicates agrometeorological conditions for formations of spikes areas productivity. Initiation of ear is in the process on most of winter cereals fields, stem growth is observed, culm node emerged in many areas. Seedlings and third leaf appear on spring cereal crops. Maize emerged on the earliest sowings in the south and the west of the Republic.
