Overview of hydrological situation of January 23, 2023
In the past period (January 21-22), on the tributary of the Pripyat, the Ptich River near the village of Persha Slobodka, the water level exceeded a dangerously high mark. On the tributaries of the Sozh, the Vihra rivers at Mstislavl and Basya at Khilkovichi village, the water reached the floodplain. The Neman basin was completely cleared of ice formations.
As of January 23, on the Berezina near Bobruisk, the water level exceeded a dangerously high mark, and in the area near Borisov, the water reached the floodplain.
Glaciation with polynyas and divorces is observed on the Zapadnaya Dvina near the town of Surazh and settlement Ulla, Dnieper on the Mogilev – Zhlobin section, Sozh on the Krichev – Slavgorod section, some of their tributaries, as well as throughout the Berezina. Glaciation is observed on lakes and reservoirs, glaciation with polynyas and edges, water on ice is observed. It is extremely dangerous to go out and move on the ice!
The increase in water levels is observed in the basins of the Zapadnaya Dvina, Neman, Berezina and Sozh with an intensity of 1-29 cm per day. Fluctuations in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-17 cm are observed in Vilia, Dnieper and Pripyat. On most rivers, the water is on the floodplain.
Water levels exceed dangerously high levels on the Berezina near the town of Bobruisk, the Sozh tributary of the Pronya river near the village. Letyagi and a tributary of the Pripyat river Ptich at the village of Persha Slobodka. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels in the Pripyat near the town of Petrikov, its tributary the Sluch river near the settlement Lenin and the Dnieper tributary of the Drut river near the village of Gorodishche, there is an increase in water levels.
River flooding persists in some areas of Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev regions.
