Working meeting with the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus
On August 19, 2021, a working meeting with representatives of the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus was held at the State Institution "Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Pollution Control and Environmental Monitoring" (hereinafter - Belhydromet).
First Deputy Head Svetlana Kuzmich, Deputy Head of the Aviation and Meteorological Monitoring Service Irina Dudnik, and Deputy Head of the Service - Head of the International Cooperation Department Andrei Korobchuk took part in the working meeting on the part of Belhydromet.
On the part of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus - Zalina Kobesova is the interim trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, and Alexander Timchenko is a consultant of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus.
Within the framework of the working meeting, the issue of interest of Belhydromet's participation in the international project REANET, which provides for the creation of a unified information field of Doppler meteorological radar data of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, was discussed. The meeting participants preliminarily agreed to hold an extended meeting in September 2021 for a detailed presentation of the REANET project with the participation of all stakeholders from both the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
Representatives of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus visited the meteorological forecast service of Belhydromet, where they got acquainted with the basic principles of Belhydromet's operation, including the principle of operation and output products of Doppler weather radars, information on the use of these data in the production of weather forecasts and forecasting dangerous and unfavorable phenomena weather.
A dummy doppler weather radar was shown to the participants at the end of the working meeting.
