The very cold weather is affecting the development of agricultural crops, restraining the emergence of spring crop seedlings and grass regrowth. In recent nights, frosts have posed a danger primarily to the blossoms of fruit crops.
Over most of the territory, good moisture levels are maintained in the topsoil, allowing for soil cultivation and the sowing of spring crops. At the same time, areas with insufficient soil moisture continue to expand. In many districts of Vitebsk and Brest regions, as well as in the east of Grodno and Minsk regions, the topsoil is slightly moist.
The threat of frosts will persist over the coming nights; however, by the end of this week, as temperatures rise, the agrometeorological conditions for the development of agricultural crops will improve.
