On the crops of winter cereals (rye, wheat, triticale), grain filling continues across a significant part of the country. In many districts of the southern half of the republic, ripening has commenced, with wax maturity observed. Winter barley on the main areas is at full maturity, and its harvesting is being carried out. Moisture content of grain at the observation plots is predominantly elevated.
Winter rapeseed has reached economic maturity at a number of meteorological stations, indicating its ripening and readiness for harvest.
Ongoing rainfall complicates harvesting operations. In several districts of the northern half of the republic, the upper 10-centimetre soil layer is excessively wet.
An increase in temperature conditions in the near future will facilitate the ripening of grain crops. Agrometeorological conditions for the development of thermophilic crops are expected to improve. Forecasted rainfall may continue to constrain the pace of harvesting operations.
