In the main grain crop areas, milk ripeness is observed, and grain filling is underway. According to data from certain weather stations in the southern regions of the country, ripening has begun on the crops – wax ripeness has set in.
In winter barley, wax ripeness has been recorded over most of the territory of the republic. In the southern part of the country, ahead of last year's dates, barley has ripened to full maturity. Farms are carrying out its harvesting.
After heavy rains accompanied by wind, some weather stations report lodging of crops.
In the near future, the predominance of a moderately low temperature regime and sufficient moisture over a significant area will contribute to an extended duration of grain filling. However, the expected rains will hinder the harvesting of winter barley, the drying of grain, and complicate forage harvesting.
