The recent rains have increased soil moisture content. Areas with insufficient moisture in the southwestern region of Belarus have noticeably diminished, and the agrometeorological situation there has improved. According to the latest visual observation data, the topsoil layer is well moistened over most of the republic. This allows for high-quality inter-row cultivation and hilling of potatoes. The average soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm over most of the republic is +15 +18°C, which is optimal for the onset of potato tuber formation.
In the second half of this week, as temperatures are expected to rise, conditions will be favorable for the formation of green mass in corn, regrowth of grasses after mowing, and the growth and development of root crops. Warm weather and good moisture supply will contribute to the formation of the ear in grain crops.
