In the main areas of spring grain crops, heading is observed; in oats, panicle emergence is noted, and grain formation is underway. According to data from individual weather stations in the southern part of the republic, barley and oats have begun grain filling – milk ripeness has set in, while flowering has been recorded in spring wheat. In late-sown crops, mainly in the Vitebsk region, stem elongation continues. Over most of the acreage, good moisture supply is promoting plant growth and productivity formation. However, in a number of southern regions of Belarus, a lack of soil moisture is complicating agrometeorological conditions. In the near future, due to the expected hot weather, the development of spring crops will accelerate.
