Passing rains moisten the soil unevenly. By the morning of September 22, the top 10-centimeter layer of soil in most of the republic is well moistened; in places in the northern part and in the east of the country, intense precipitation has led to waterlogging, which will make field work more difficult. At the same time, in a number of districts of the Brest region and in the south of the Minsk region, low moisture levels still persist.
The rains expected in the near future will replenish the moisture content in the soil. Agrometeorological conditions for the emergence of seedlings and the further development of winter crops will improve.
