As of February 26, rivers are mostly experiencing freeze-up and freeze-up with ice holes. On most rivers in the southern and southwestern parts of the country, water is observed on top of the ice, and areas of open water within the ice cover have increased.
A continuous ice cover is observed on the Vileyka, Chigirinskoye, Soligorsk, Zaslavskoye, and Krasnaya Sloboda reservoirs, as well as on lakes Naroch, Drisvyaty, Chervonoye, and Lukomskoye.
On the Neman, the Viliya, the Berezina, the Pripyat, most of their tributaries, and the tributaries of the Western Bug, as well as on the Western Dvina near Surazh, the Sozh river near Gomel, and some of their tributaries, a rise in water levels is observed with an intensity of 1-19 cm per day.
On the Viliya near the agricultural town of Steshitsy and the Pripyat tributary, the Ptich river near the village of Pershaya Slobodka, water levels exceed the floodplain flood levels.
In the next 24 hours, rivers in the basins of the Neman, the Viliya, the Western Bug, the Pripyat, in the lower reaches of the Dnieper, the Berezina and the Sozh will mostly see a rise in water levels and the melting of the ice cover will continue. On the Berezina's tributary, the Svisloch river near the village of Terebuty the water level will reach the floodplain flood level.
