On September 3-4, 2026, representatives of Belhydromet, its branches, and the FSBI UGMS and TSGMS branches of the FSBI UGMS of Roshydromet gathered together again: this time at the jubilee 20th meeting of the working group of interested branches of Belhydromet and Roshydromet. This year the event is taking place on the territory of the Russian Federation in Yaroslavl.

For reference. The meeting of the working group has been held annually since 2006, alternately on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Thus, last year the 19th meeting was held in Gomel (Republic of Belarus).
As co-chair of the working group, First Deputy Head of Belhydromet Tatsiana Chаtyrka addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech:
"This round anniversary is a serious milestone that clearly proves the strength, reliability, and strategic importance of our common cause. Over the years of joint work, the working group has come a long way: from building the first contacts to creating an effective mechanism for operational interaction. Weather knows no state borders. Belhydromet and its branches, as well as Roshydromet and its territorial administrations, are daily on the front line of ensuring the hydrometeorological security of our countries.
Our interaction is not merely the formal fulfillment of regulations; it is a living and effective mechanism based on trust, high professionalism, and a common striving to protect the population and economy of our countries from hazardous natural phenomena and threats of a radiation-ecological nature," emphasized the First Deputy Head of Belhydromet.
The agenda of the 20th meeting includes important issues. Among them are the current state of hydrological forecasting for the basins of transboundary rivers, the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of hydrometeorology, experience in metrological servicing under conditions of import substitution, the organization of radiation and environmental monitoring, as well as the preliminary results of the competition for the best hydrological technician and plans for holding the 21st meeting of the working group.
We wish all participants fruitful work. We are confident that the discussions within the framework of this meeting will be constructive, and the decisions developed will give a new powerful impetus to the development of the hydrometeorological services of the Union State!
