Representatives of Belhydromet took part in the Forum on the Impact of the National Context on the Safety of Nuclear Energy Use

On September 11-12, 2025, a Forum dedicated to studying the impact of national peculiarities on the safety of atomic energy use was held in Minsk on the basis of the Educational Center of Life Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus. Representatives of Belhydromet who are interested in safety and reliability issues in the context of the use of nuclear technologies also took part in the Forum.

The Forum was organized by the Basic Organization of the CIS member States under the auspices of the Commission of the CIS Member States on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy with the support of the Department of Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the Obninsk Scientific Research Center "Forecast".

The purpose of the event was to develop competencies and share experiences in the field of assessment and development of a culture of safety and leadership.
The key objective of the Forum was to determine the impact of the Belarusian national context on ensuring safety at enterprises of the nuclear industry of the Republic of Belarus.

The event was attended by about 70 representatives from more than 15 organizations, including management and regulatory bodies for the use of atomic energy, scientific and technical support organizations, energy system organizations, and higher education institutions.

The Forum discussed issues related to the formation of a safety culture, the impact of national characteristics on organizational behavior and ensuring safety. Experts from Belarus and Russia shared their experience and knowledge in this field.

Special attention was paid to national cases presented by the staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The Forum participants reviewed the factors ensuring safe production activities as well as the impact of a national nature on safety and reliability.

It is expected that the results of the Forum will contribute to the deepening of knowledge and improvement of skills in the field of safety culture development. The Forum is planned to be expanded to other CIS countries.
