Youth forum "Youth. The nature of action" held at Belhydromet

October 16, 2026, became a special date for the system of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus. A large-scale youth forum was held at the premises of Belhydromet, bringing together 50 young specialists from the Ministry of Natural Resources system under the age of 31.

The event was held under the motto "We know the essence. We preserve what matters most" and included a rich program of both professional and patriotic nature.

The forum program began with an informational meeting. Forum participants had a unique opportunity to hear words of encouragement from key figures: First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Alexei Stasyukevich, Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Forestry and Nature Management Workers Yuri Shumsky, Chief Specialist for Mortgage and Preferential Lending at OJSC "Belarusbank" Olga Filonchik, and Deputy General Director of UE "Agency 'Minsk-Novosti'" – Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper "Minsky Kurier" Kirill Kazakov.

A special place in the program was occupied by the presentation of Belhydromet meteorological engineer Tatiana Gil, who shared her real experience – "My path: from assignment to real deeds." Her sincere story inspired the youth, demonstrating how theory transforms into successful practice.

Next, Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Forestry and Nature Management Workers Yuri Shumsky provided young specialists with comprehensive information on the protection of their labor rights, benefits, and health improvement opportunities. Practical aspects of financial support were covered by Olga Filonchik from "Belarusbank," who focused attention on youth cards and preferential housing lending. The concluding note of the first block was the presentation by Kirill Kazakov, who raised the topical issue of information security and the formation of "information immunity" among young people.
Moving from words to deeds, forum participants took part in a symbolic action – planting the "Alley of unity" on the territory of Belhydromet. Fifteen thuja trees, planted through the joint efforts of 50 pairs of hands, became a living reminder of the power of unity and a caring attitude toward nature: forum participants with their own hands created a living monument to unity and the continuity of generations.

Special attention was given to the format "101 questions to the leader," where young specialists were able to communicate directly with the First Deputy Minister and ask questions of interest about career growth, social guarantees, and prospects for the industry's development.

After the substantive conversation, participants split into two groups for a tour of Belhydromet. They visited the organization's museum, the radio spectrometry department, and the department of short-term weather forecasts and adverse and dangerous phenomena, familiarizing themselves with the work of key divisions and immersing themselves in the atmosphere of professional activity.

The second half of the day was dedicated to immersion in the heroic past of the country. A visit to the historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line" allowed young specialists to touch history, feel the strength of spirit of the defenders of the Fatherland, and strengthen their understanding of what it means to "preserve what matters most." A tour of the pillboxes, museum expositions, and the opportunity to take memorable photographs became an integral part of this important stage.

The forum became an important step in the development of the industry's youth policy, uniting professional development, social support, and patriotic education of the younger generation of specialists. Forum participants proved that they are socially active, strong, and caring youth, upon whom great hopes are placed in the cause of nature conservation and the development of the Ministry of Natural Resources system.

The forum "Youth. The Nature of Action" became a vivid example of how professional development, care for nature, and respect for history can be closely intertwined in the life of a young specialist.
