Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 18, 2023
Areas with moderate soil moisture have expanded. In most of the territory of the republic, the upper 10-centimeter layer is well moistened. The soil has also matured in the north-eastern region of Belarus, which allowed the farms of the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions to start processing it, mass sowing of early spring crops and carrying out agrotechnical measures for the care of winter crops. Due to the observed cool weather, the soil temperature dropped slightly. Grain germination is taking place on the crops of early spring crops, in the southern regions of the republic, seedlings appeared on some observation sites sown in late March-early April.
The warm weather expected this week will contribute to the germination of grain, the emergence of seedlings and the further development of crops. The agrometeorological conditions for carrying out field agricultural work will develop quite favorably.
