Crop moisture availability is good in most of the republic according to the results of an instrumental determination of soil moisture conducted at the end of the second decade. Moisture reserves are increased on heavier soils in some places in Vitebsk, in some areas of Minsk and Mogilev regions. Lack of precipitation against the background of high temperatures for this time provokes a more intensive loss of moisture from the upper layers especially on light soils, there is already a weak moistening of the top soil layer of 10 centimeters in some areas of the southern part of the country.
In the coming days agrometeorological conditions will contribute to the growth and development of agricultural crops, the regrowth of perennial grasses, and will allow maintaining good rates of spring sowing and agrotechnical measures. However, the agrometeorological conditions will worsen again at the end of this week due to the cooling. The expected frosts pose a threat primarily to flowering fruit crops.
