On most of the territory of the republic, conditions for field work are developing quite favorably, and the upper 10-centimeter soil layer is well moistened. In some northwestern districts of Belarus, the rains that fell have led to waterlogging of the soil. The agrometeorological situation has also improved in the southeastern region, but not everywhere; in a number of districts, a deficit of soil moisture persists. In Minsk, Brest, and Gomel regions, on part of the areas where less precipitation fell, the soil remains poorly moistened, and in the south of Mogilev region it is dry, which complicates the implementation of agrotechnical measures for soil preparation.
In the coming days, mostly rainless weather will cause moisture loss from the upper soil layers. At the same time, the weather will be favorable for harvesting potatoes and sugar beet, lifting flax straw, and preparing fodder.
