Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 2, 2021

As the rains passed in the last five days of June in most of the territory of Belarus, the reserves of soil moisture were replenished. According to the results of the instrumental determination of moisture on June 28, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil on the main tracts turned out to be good for the growth and development of agricultural crops. In some northwestern and central regions of the republic, moisture reserves are increased after intense rains. As a result of heavy rains and winds, lodging of grain crops, rapeseed, flax takes place, leaves of corn and vegetables are locally beaten by hail.
Due to the uneven distribution of precipitation according to the data of a number of meteorological stations in the eastern part and in the south-west of the country, the moisture supply of crops is satisfactory. In a number of districts of the Brest region, in some places in Grodno and in the south of the Minsk region, mainly under grain crops, at the time of moisture determination, low reserves of productive moisture remained.
The previous rains in many areas of the southwestern part of the republic moistened the soil. In the near future, the expected rains will maintain sufficient moisture supply for crops.
