Overview of agrometeorological situation of July 4, 2023

After the past rains, the moisture supply of agricultural crops has significantly improved in most of Belarus – the soil drought has been eliminated. According to the results of the last instrumental determination of humidity in most of the republic, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil are good. However, in a number of districts of Vitebsk and in places in the northern part of the Minsk region, where precipitation fell the least, the reserves of productive moisture in the arable soil horizon remain low.
Sufficient moisture availability will have a positive impact on the final stage of the formation of the grain crop, in areas with good soil moisture reserves, grain filling will be longer. The established warm weather, combined with the abundance of moisture on the main massifs, is favorable for the development of root crops, potatoes, and the regrowth of grasses after mowing.
