In most areas, the moisture supply for agricultural crops is adequate. The rains that fell during the second decade of June most significantly replenished soil moisture reserves in the western part, as well as in the northern and eastern regions of the country. According to the results of instrumental moisture measurements conducted in the Vitebsk region, areas with excessive wetting have expanded, and moisture reserves were also elevated in the northeastern part of the Minsk region. Over most of the territory of Belarus, good reserves of available soil moisture are maintained. At the same time, in a number of districts of the Brest region, moisture reserves under grain crops, winter rapeseed, and grasses have remained low for an extended period.
In the near future, warm weather will promote the growth and development of agricultural crops; however, due to the expected shortfall in precipitation, areas with insufficient soil moisture may expand.
