Hot weather has accelerated the development of grain crops. In winter wheat, triticale, and rye, grain filling continues. In the second half of this week, the expected decrease in temperature will provide more favorable agrometeorological conditions for ear filling.
In winter barley, ripening is underway in the main growing areas; waxy ripeness is observed, and in some places in the southern regions, full ripeness has set in with grain moisture content close to the standard level.
Under the influence of the persistent hot weather and precipitation deficit, soil moisture loss is occurring. At the same time, the weather conditions allow for maintaining a good pace of forage harvesting and are favorable for haymaking operations.
In the near future, the expected brief showers will replenish soil moisture content, but still unevenly.
