Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 16, 2025

Passing rains are replenishing the soil moisture content. According to visual observations the topsoil layer across most of the republic is well moistened. Due to uneven distribution of precipitation, poor moisture remains at a 10 cm depth, in the western part of the Vitebsk region and in the northeastern areas of the Minsk region, while in several northern and eastern regions of the republic precipitation led to waterlogging of the soil. Improved moisture supply is contributing to the emergence of heat-loving crops, however, the temperature regime remains below optimal levels. The average soil temperature at a 10 cm depth mainly ranges between +10°C and +13°C.
The agrometeorological conditions will not change significantly in the coming days.
