Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 31, 2022
This spring, the predominance of a lower temperature regime did not contribute to the accumulation of effective heat, and caused a slowdown in the growth and development of agricultural crops, especially those demanding heat. Cold weather is unfavorable for planting seedlings, sowing and emergence of seedlings of heat-loving vegetables in the open field.
According to the latest observation data, leaf formation began in corn in the areas sown in April-first decade of May: in the observed fields, on average, there are 3 leaves per plant, in some southern regions - 5 leaves. On late crops, grain germination takes place and seedlings are noted.
In the near future, unstable weather with rains will make it difficult to carry out hay harvesting.
