Overview of agrometeorological situation of October 12, 2023
There is a very uneven moisture supply of winter crops on the territory of Belarus. The increase in moisture reserves was noted mainly in the northern half of the country. In some places in the east of the Vitebsk region moisture reserves are increased. In most areas of the southern half of the republic where there was little precipitation in the first decade of October the reserves of productive moisture in the arable soil layer remain satisfactory. The most unfavorable agrometeorological situation for the development of winter crops persists in the south-eastern part of Belarus. The expected short-term rains of varying intensity will replenish soil moisture reserves unevenly as before. In the south-east of the republic the lack of moisture may persist.
