According to the latest agrometeorological observation data, in most of Belarus the top 10-centimeter soil layer is well moistened, which is favourable for autumn (fall) tillage, the emergence of seedlings in late-sown winter cereal crops, and the development of the plant root system. In a number of districts in the northern region and in the eastern part of the country, following heavy rains the soil is heavily moistened, which hampers field agricultural operations. At the same time, in places in the Brest region a moisture deficit in the soil persists, and the top layer remains slightly moist.
In the near future, light rains should not create serious obstacles to harvesting operations. Due to the threat of frost, harvested agricultural produce should not be left in the fields without cover.
