Overview of agrometeorological situation of October 15, 2026
Due to the drop in temperature, the vegetation of winter crops in Belarus has somewhat slowed down. According to the latest data, in areas sown before mid-September, winter grain crops are mainly in the tillering stage. In crops sown at later dates, sprouting and the third leaf are observed. In the latest October sowings, grain germination is observed.
The upper 10-centimeter soil layer is mainly in a moderately moist state, which facilitates the carrying out of agrotechnical measures for the care of winter crops and the plowing of fallow land. Conditions for harvesting operations are developing satisfactorily; in some districts of the republic, field work is complicated by waterlogged soil.
In the near future, the vegetation of winter crops will continue, and it will be most active in the southeastern part of the republic. Expected light rains will not significantly affect the progress of harvesting late crops.
