Warm weather and lack of precipitation cause loss of soil moisture. The topsoil in a significant part of the republic is poorly moistened, and in many areas of Brest, Mogilev, and the east of the Minsk region it is dry, which makes it difficult to carry out field work. Good soil moisture is observed mainly in the northwestern half of the country. Here, the agrometeorological conditions for the emergence of seedlings and the further development of winter rapeseed are favorable.
Further loss of moisture from the soil will occur in the near future.
