Review of the agrometeorological situation of March 19, 2020
Moderate wet state of the upper 10-centimeter layer of soil is noted in the Brest, Gomel regions and many areas of the Minsk region according to the latest visual observations. Soil cultivation, fertilizing and measures to preserve moisture and care for winter crops are carried out in dry areas. The upper 10-centimeter layer of soil is still moisture on the greater territory of the country.
Agrometeorological situation will again become more complicated due to the expected cooling at the end of this week. Conducting spring sowing will be restrained by unstable temperature and freezing of the upper soil layer. Lowering of temperature regime will slow down vegetation of winter crops and perennial grasses, damage to winter rape is not excluded in some places.
