Overview of hydrological situation of April, 1 2024

As of April 1, on the Dnieper river on the Orsha – Zhlobin section, Sozh on the Krichev – Slavgorod section, some of its tributaries and on some tributaries of the Zapadny Bug, there is an increase in water levels with an intensity of 1-5 cm per day. In the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as in the Zapadnaya Dvina, Neman, Vilia, Berezina and Pripyat, there is a decrease in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-4 cm. In most of the rivers of the Dnieper, Sozh and Pripyat basins, as well as in some sections of the rivers of the Neman and Berezina basins, the water is on the floodplain.
Water levels exceed dangerously high marks in Pripyat at the village of Chernichi by 1 cm, there is an even course of the water level and at the town of Petrikov by 26 cm, there is a decrease in the water level with an intensity of 1 cm per day.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in most areas of the Gomel region and in some areas of the Mogilev, Brest and Grodno regions.
The water temperature in rivers and reservoirs ranges from 3.6°C to 13°C.
In the coming days, a decrease in water levels will prevail on the rivers, as a result of which the water level in Pripyat near the village of Chernichi will drop below a dangerously high level.
