Overview of hydrological situation of February 22, 2023
As of February 22, glaciation and glaciation with polynyas is observed on the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh and settlement Ulla, Dnieper at Mogilev, Berezina at Bobruisk, Sozh at Krichev and some of their tributaries. There are no ice formations on the rivers of the Neman, Vilia, Zapadny Bug and Pripyat basins. Glaciation is observed on lakes and reservoirs and the glaciation is incomplete.
Fluctuations in water levels with intensity are noted on rivers
1-16 cm per day. The water is located on the floodplain on most rivers of the Dnieper, Berezina, Sozh, Pripyat basins, some rivers of the Neman, Vilia and Zapadny Bug basins.
River flooding persists in a number of districts of the Gomel region.
In the coming days, a decline in water levels will prevail on the rivers of the basins of the Zapadnaya Dvina, Dnieper and Sozh, while a slight increase in water levels and their smooth course will be observed on the rivers of the basins of the Neman, Vilia, Berezina, Zapandy Bug and Pripyat. Ice-forming processes will intensify on the rivers of the northeastern part of the country.
