Overview of hydrological situation of January 20, 2022

As of January20, shore fast ices and slush ice runs are observed on the Viliya, the Western Dvina near Vitebsk, the Neman near Grodno, the Dnieper near Mogilev, and some tributaries of the Western Bug, Berezina and Sozh. On the rest of the Western Dvina, Neman and Dnieper, as well as on the Berezina, Sozh and Pripyat, ice cover is observed with a thickness of 8-31cm, however, spaces with an open water surface are also observed in the ice cover. The ice cover thickness is 12-31cm on the reservoirs Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty, Naroch, Vygonoshchanskoye and Chervonoe.
There are fluctuations in water levels with an intensity of 1-32cm per day on the rivers of the country.
Water levels exceed the mark of water outlet on the floodplain on the Neman near the village of Belitsa, the Dnieper near the village Loev, Pripyat near the village of Chernichi, its tributaries the rivers Styr near the village of Lopatino, Sluch near the village of Lenin and Ptich near the village of 1st Slobodka.
By the end of the week, cold weather will contribute to the intensification of ice formation processes and the increase in ice thickness on the country's water bodies. There will be no significant changes in the level regime of the rivers.
