Overview of hydrological situation of January 5, 2026
As of January 5, glaciation and glaciation with polynyas are noted in most of the rivers of the basins of the Western Dvina, the Dnieper, the Sozh, the Pripyat, as well as in certain sections of the rivers of the basins of the Neman, the Vilia and the Berezina. The reservoirs of Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervonoye have ice formation and incomplete ice formation. There are fluctuations in water levels on the rivers, sometimes sharp (up to 41 cm per day) due to ice jams. In Vilia at ag.Steshitsy, a tributary of the Berezina to the Svisloch near Terebuty and a tributary of the Pripyat , near the village of Pershaya Sloboda water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain. In the coming days, ice formation on the rivers will continue, on the Berezina near Berezino and the Sozh near Slavgorod, water may reach the floodplain.
