Overview of hydrological situation of March, 14 2024

As of March 14, a decrease in water levels remains almost everywhere on rivers with an intensity of up to 31 cm per day in the basins of the Western Dvina, the Vilia and the Sozh, and up to 9 cm per day in the basins of the Neman, the Dnieper, the Berezina and the Pripyat. The increase in water levels persists on the Dnieper near Rechitsa and Loev with an intensity of 2 cm and 8 cm per day, respectively.
Water levels exceed dangerously high levels on the Sozh near Gomel, the Pripyat near Chernichi village, Petrikov, its tributaries the Ptich River near Persha Slobodka village, the Sluch near agrotown Lenin and on the tributary of the Neman river Shchara near the town of Slonim.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in most areas of the Gomel and Mogilev regions, in some areas of the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions.
Freeze-up with polynyas and rims persists on the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh. On the reservoirs of Chigirinskoye, Vileyskoye, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye and Drivyaty, ice formation with polynyas and rims is observed, the ice melts in place.
In the coming days the above-mentioned hydrological situation will continue. On the tributary of the Pripyat - the river Sluch near agrotown Lenin the water level will drop below a dangerously high level.
