Overview of hydrological situation of March, 28 2024

As of March 28, an increase in water levels is observed in the Western Dvina near the village of Surazh and in the Ulla – Polotsk section, the Dnieper near Mogilev, the Sozh in the Krichev – Slavgorod section with a daily intensity of up to 21 cm. In the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as in the Vilia, the Berezina and the Pripyat, there is a decrease in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-5 cm, on the Neman - up to 19 cm per day. In most of the rivers of the Dnieper, the Sozh and the Pripyat basins, as well as in some sections of the rivers of the Neman and the Berezina basins, the water is on the floodplain.
In the Pripyat, Chernichi and Petrikov villages have water levels exceeding dangerously high levels by 2 cm and 29 cm, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in most areas of the Gomel region and in some areas of the Mogilev, Brest and Grodno regions.
In the coming days, the increase in water levels will continue on the Western Dvina, in the upper reaches of the Dnieper and the Sozh, but its intensity will decrease, and a decrease in water levels will prevail on the rest of the country's rivers.
