Overview of hydrological situation of March, 4 2024
In the past period (March 2-3), the ice on the Sozh near Krichev was broken, the Dnieper near Mogilev, the Sozh near Gomel, as well as the tributaries of the Western Dvina of the Obol and Drys Rivers were cleared of ice formations. Fluctuations in water levels were observed on the rivers, as a result of which the water level dropped below a dangerously high level on the Dnieper tributary of the Drut River near the village of Gorodishche.
As of March 4, the ice sheet with rims remains only on the Western Dvina near the town of Surazh. Glaciation, glaciation with polynyas, rims and streams are noted on the reservoirs Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Vileyskoye, lakes Naroch, Lukomskoye and Drivyaty, it is forbidden to go out on the ice.
Fluctuations in water levels with an intensity of up to 26 cm per day are observed on rivers. Most rivers have floodplain water.
Water levels exceed dangerously high levels on the Pripyat at Chernichi village, Petrikov town, its tributaries the Ptich River at Persha Slobodka village, Sluch at agrotown Lenin, Tsna at agrotown Dyatlovichi, on the Neman tributary of the Shchara River near Slonim and the Sozh tributary of the Pronya River near the village Letyagi.
The water level is close to the dangerous mark on the Pripyat near the city of Mozyr, 7 cm remains before it is reached, there is a decrease in the water level with an intensity of 1 cm per day.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in most areas of the Gomel and Mogilev regions, in some areas of the Brest, Grodno, Minsk and Vitebsk regions.
In the coming days, fluctuations in water levels on rivers will continue, ice melting on lakes and reservoirs, as well as the purification of rivers from ice formations will continue.
