Overview of hydrological situation of March 9, 2023
In the past day, on the tributary of the Pripyat, the Ptich river near the village of Persha Slobodka, the water level dropped below a dangerously high mark.
As of March 9, glaciation and glaciation with polynyas persists on the Zapadnaya Dvina near the town of Surazh and settlement Ulla, Sozh near the city of Krichev and some of their tributaries, on the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as on the greater length of the Dnieper, Berezina, some sections of the Neman, Vilia, Pripyat, snowdrifts, zaberegs and shugohod are observed. Glaciation is observed on lakes and reservoirs, glaciation with polynyas and streams, strips with an open water surface are marked along the shores, and residual fences are marked on the Krasnaya Sloboda reservoir.
A small (1-9 cm per day) increase in water levels is observed on the Zapadnaya Dvina on the Surazh – Vitebsk section and near Polotsk, the Dnieper near Orsha Pripyat on the Chernichi – Narovlya section and some of their tributaries. For the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as the Neman, Vilia, Berezina and Sozh, there is a decrease in water levels with an intensity of 1-7 cm per day. The water is located on the floodplain on most rivers of the Dnieper, Berezina, Sozh, Pripyat basins, some rivers of the Neman and Zapadny Bug basins.
In Pripyat, Petrikov, the water level exceeds the dangerously high mark by 7 cm. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels on the Pripyat near the village of Chernichi, its tributaries the rivers Sluch near settlement Lenin and the Bird at the village of Persha Slobodka.
River flooding persists in a number of districts of the Gomel region.
In the next day, fluctuations in water levels will be observed on the rivers, no significant changes are expected in the ice situation.
